Happy Mother’s Day

Dear COAH,

The word for 'Mom' is 'Umma' in Korean, 'Am'ma' in Tamil, 'Mam' in Punjabi, and 'Maman' in French. They are some of the most beautiful sounds in the world and are soothing to our ears. If you think about it, the word 'mom' brings so much comfort and security when you are down and in need of cheering up.

This Sunday is Mother's Day. We salute all the mothers who work hard to care for their children. Without Mother's love and care, we would not be here today. Mothers are amazing. They give and give and give without end. I don't know how they do it! I look at my wife and how dedicated she is to our children. My children would ask, 'Mom, could you do this for me?' She does not even think about it. She does it. Fathers, too, care for their children, but in a different way. I don't know how to describe the difference between the two. But I am going to say that mothers are far more committed than fathers when caring for their children (forgive me, some of you fathers out there if you are offended by this).

So, let us be grateful to our mothers. Take her out and show how much you appreciate her. Be sure to say, "Thank you, Mom, Happy Mother's Day!"

Blessings,

Pastor Minho Song
