Redeemed for Redemptive Living

Dear COAH,

As we usher in the new year, we are grateful to the Lord for His provision and care for the past year. We went through the last sting (hopefully) of COVID-19 and a score of other things. We were shaken up but not down. What was it like for you in 2022? Hopefully, we will emerge stronger than before. We have a lot of work to do as God calls us to live out our calling in the world.

I am confident that the new year will bring hope and a new vision for you and your loved ones. I also pray that City on a Hill will grow in maturity as each of you spends more time with the Lord and make Him known to others. Let us make 2023 the year of full recovery as far as our community of faith is concerned. Let us serve the Lord with joy and gladness.

Our churchwide action phrase for 2023 is "Redeemed for Redemptive Living." We believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins. We also believe that Jesus died for more than our sins. Jesus "gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good" (Titus 2:14). Yes, the purpose of Jesus' redeeming us is so that we may become God's people who are eager to do good. That translates into redemptive living, a life of reconciliation, a life of hospitality, and a life of genuine sharing and serving. May God use us mightily in the new year!

Blessings,

Pastor Minho Song
