Worshipping Together
Dear Church,
Online worship has been a very crucial part of our lives. It has been nothing but God’s blessing that we had access to this kind of worship when we could not meet in person at all. While we still need to rely on online worship, I am glad that in-person worship is slowly opening.
There was a seniors’ worship service last Thursday morning in the main sanctuary. Close to one hundred seniors came to church and worshiped God despite the constant rain in the morning. Their attendance shows how eager they are to worship God in person.
Registration for in-person Sunday worship was well over before the service started last Sunday. We will increase the number of spaces from 110 to 170 (not including ten pastoral and support staff). The increase is possible because the government recently allowed us up to 25% of the seating capacity. We can still increase more, but we want to give enough distance between the seats. Some people ask me when the second service will resume (10 am service). It will be possible after our roofing work is done and the air conditioning is restored. [NOTE: This information is from Korean Ministry (KM).]
It appears that Church School worship for our children and youth will open partially in the fall. Getting everyone fully vaccinated is the key. The Delta variant is on a surge all over the world right now. Thankfully, Canada responded quickly to minimize the damage from this variant. So far, we have been successful, but we know that the variant can strike us anytime. We must not let our guards down. COVID-19 is much more active in the cold weather. We’d better be fully ready and not go through another crisis.
The past year and a half seem like an eternity, with many memories we do not want to cherish. Getting back to the in-person worship and praising God together is one sure way of erasing the unpleasant memory. Let us desire the whole in-person worship, and to that end, please be sure to get fully vaccinated.
“(They are) the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise.”
(Isaiah 43:21)
May the LORD bless you and keep you strong.
