Praying for Pastors

Dear CoaH,

Please pray for all our pastors.

A seminary professor friend told me some time ago that there is a steady decline in seminary enrollment, especially from the Korean American community. I am not surprised by that since I know those who have moved away from pastoring. I’d say that pastors are becoming endangered species. We need to pray for our pastors and ensure that their needs are met spiritually, emotionally, and in every other way. We do not want burnout.

The Apostle Paul commanded Timothy to take care of himself. Timothy was up against many challenges at the Ephesian Church, where he was pastoring. He had false teachers and disobedient members who constantly wreaked havoc in the church. So, Paul told him to watch himself and set an example for others in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity:

“Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers” (1 Tim. 4:15-16).

Without godly and competent pastors, churches cannot go on. Pastors need to run the race for a long, long time. Longevity is critical. Let us pray for all our pastors (not only in CoaH, but also in the Sunday School and KM) that they may deepen their walk with the Lord and lead godly lives. Please pray for your pastors and tell them how much you appreciate their work.

Why don’t you check out the Young Nak homepage and get to know all our pastors?

May the LORD bless you and keep you safe.
