Concerning the New Worship Time

Dear CoaH,

I want to explain the new Sunday worship time which will start on Sunday, March 20, 2022.

I wrote to you about the new Sunday worship time last November but let me explain more in detail. Since last November, I have asked for feedback on the proposed change. Some of you responded with approval, while others had questions. When we examine both EM and KM’s responses, overall, most folks are willing to follow the new proposal. At the same time, some have brought to attention several significant questions to consider how we will make this work.

In the past, we held four main Sunday services in the main sanctuary, three in Korean and one in English. That number will not change. However, 2 pm English service (the last service) will move to the third slot (11:30 am). This change means that all CoaH members will need to come to church by 11:30 am for worship. Please expect some members from KM who are either bilingual or comfortable in English to join this service. It may not happen on a large scale, but I believe some will start to come for the 11:30 am service.

Here is the new schedule. As you can see, the interval between the services is reduced from two hours to one hour and 45 minutes. We will all need to work hard to make sure that things will run smoothly.

  1. The first service (in Korean) at 8 am

  2. The second service (in Korean, with the KSE Church School) at 9:45 am

  3. The third service (in English, with the ESE Church School) at 11:30 am

  4. The fourth service (in Korean) at 1:15 pm

Significantly, the CoaH’s worship time is moved to one of the morning slots. It speaks about the Session’s resolve to bring CoaH into the mainstream church life of Young Nak and have more interaction with the KM members. Let us pursue the interdependent model of two congregations coming together and working together. The EM-KM partnership committee will begin its activities with the mandate of creating a synergizing environment between the two ministries for the sake of the Kingdom. Once the new schedule kicks in, there will be many glitches. Please think of building a main highway first. Once the highway is done, we will work on the secondary roads. I ask for your patience and cooperation.

I appreciate your understanding.

Thank you!

May the LORD bless you and keep you strong.
