New Year

Dear Church,

Happy New Year to you all!

The year 2021 was quite turbulent in many ways, particularly for the Coah members. While fighting COVID-19, we had to endure the difficult transition of CoaH. Some of us moved on to start a new church, while others chose to stay and rebuild. As I have said on many occasions, I am very impressed and encouraged by how you handled the situation. It was not easy by any stretch of the imagination. It required patience, understanding, and love for the community. Without spiritual maturity, this would not have been possible. It shows how much God loves you and you love God.

Now we are called to begin a new journey, this time with more co-operation in mind. Two language congregations will try to come together and honor the Lord together. The first action point is prayer. In the next two weeks, we will unite in prayer. Please join me in early rise prayers at 6 am (online). I will be preaching in both languages, covering Matthew 4-7 on β€˜His Kingdom and His Righteousness.’ Also, join the rest of Young Nak members by praying at 9 pm every day. There are twelve churchwide prayer topics we will use during this prayer period. And finally, sign up to pray the relay prayers on January 14th (Friday). Please fill up the 24-hour slots. It is such a blessing to practice an interdependent ministry model by praying together.

We need to pray fervently for the pastoral search as we look forward to the new year. We came VERY CLOSE to inviting someone, but it just did not work out. Too bad. But all LT members sense that God has a better plan for our community. Let us not lose heart and keep going. I desire to study with you the Lausanne Covenant (1974) and the Cape Town Commitment (2010) in the new year. These two documents will give us a clear sense of direction as we proceed with the missional church vision. In the meantime, may the LORD bless you with extra protection from the surging COVID-19. Please stay safe and keep focusing on Christ.

Blessings to you and your family,

Pastor Minho Song
