A Call to Prayer

Dear Church,

Merry Christmas!

2021 will go down in our memory as one of the most challenging years. Just when we thought we had the virus under control, the devious foe changed into variant forms. I can’t believe that the omicron variant is wreaking such havoc now, with more than 4,000 daily confirmed cases in Ontario alone. Our lives have been battered, and most of us have reached our limits of endurance. “How long, O Lord, will you leave us like this? Please come to our rescue!”

The Session made a decision to move all in-person worship to online worship for the next two weeks. It is a necessary decision with the safety of our members in mind. My biggest worry as a pastor is that God’s people will lose spiritual edge beyond repair because of the prolonged pandemic. A call to prayer is necessary at this point. I want to ask you to pray fervently for the next two weeks. Let us pray in three different ways. First, please join us online at 6 am for the early prayer meetings. I will be leading the prayer meeting in Korean and English.

‘Call to me, and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know’ (Jer. 33:3). These were the words of God given to Jeremiah. Jerusalem lied in ruins after the Babylonian invasion. However, God promised a new day to restore God’s people. But a corporate prayer had to precede, hence the call for prayer. It is time to come to God in prayer. Let us pray fervently for the next two weeks, seeking God’s mercy upon our lives.

Will you join me in prayer?

 May the LORD bless you,

Pastor Minho Song
