God has brought the world to our doorstep.
Toronto is considered the most multicultural city on the planet. So, we can do missions right here! Throughout scripture we see a God who loves cities and the people within them. You can be a part of God’s plan as we share the love of Christ in Toronto.
Being involved locally can impact you in the following ways:
Challenge the way you see the people in our city, and the way you live your daily routine
Expose you to peoples of a different culture
Learn some new skills and gain new experiences (e.g., teaching)
Stretch your faith as God uses you in ways you never imagined
Increase your burden for, and grow in your support of God’s work in the city
Form life bonds with fellow team members and people in the community
Local Serving Opportunities
Toronto City Mission
Toronto City Mission (TCM) exists to share the love of God and to break the cycles of poverty in Toronto. The programs at TCM embrace, enrich and empower at risk families. Community missionaries live and work within several neighbourhoods so that they can fully understand the need and build effective relationships. Low-cost or no-fee programs run by TCM provide physical, emotional and spiritual support to families. This support empowers them to believe that their lives can change for the better. TCM works towards building a healthier community where every person can prosper and grow, learning to contribute to their community and break the cycles of poverty through the power of the Gospel.
City on a Hill Ministry partners with Toronto City Mission (TCM) every summer to serve in the Sonshine Day Camp children’s program in the St. Jamestown and Kingston Galloway neighbourhood of Toronto. We also minister on the streets of St. James Town, building relationships and evangelizing to passers-by.
There are multiple opportunities to serve in this local community. General prerequisites include: signed membership of City On A Hill (for at least a year), must have completed Discipleship 1 class, and complete an application form.

Cornerstone
Cornerstone is a church located in downtown Toronto (40 Oak St.) that we partner with in ministering to the poor and homeless. CoaH serves at Cornerstone every other month preparing meals for over 350-400 individuals. You have an opportunity to hear their stories and share the Gospel to them. Come and be part of what God is doing in our city.
TCM Summer Internship
Do you want to explore God’s will for your life in the midst of a fun and intense summer of fun and service? Do you desire to know and share God’s love by working with inner-city kids and their families? If you are a full time student and would like to combine a summer job with ministry, then Toronto City Mission has the experience for you!
