God's Mission Continues

Dear CoaH,

It is good to be in Kyrgyzstan again. Looking at the familiar streets, people, and buildings, I had to remind myself that my last visit was three years ago. The day after arrival, our team traveled to Karakol, some six hours from the capital of Bishkek to visit. The seminary graduation ceremony awaited us there.

God’s work continues even during the pandemic. It is so evident here. During the past three years, the seminary continued to train leaders as the classes were held online or in person. This time, a total of 8 students graduated. They are mainly church leaders in their 40s and 50s from 11 churches in this area. They have learned how to handle the Word of God correctly. These eleven churches maintain a beautiful partnership. Their focal point is the seminary. Because there is a process of studying and training together for 2-3 years, the church leaders got to know one another well by the time they finish the program. You can imagine how wonderful they partner for the sake of the gospel.

Pastor Kanat, who always welcomed guests when we came to this area, was not there this time. I am told that he died of COVID complications last year. As one of the directors of the Karakol Seminary, he was a respected spiritual leader. What a loss! But God knows what He is doing, and in Him, we put our complete trust.

Blessings,

Pastor Minho Song
